Water-reversible, pH-neutral adhesive that dries clear.
Used for repairs, hinging endsheets, and general archival applications.
Add one full tablespoon of methylcellulose powder do 1/4 pint distilled water. Mix and leave for a few hours.
Dilute with distilled water to the consistency of mayonnaise.
The ready-made glue can be stored for several weeks.
Using a one-quart container, pour 5 tablespoons of methylcellulose powder do 1 cup of very hot water. Mix vigorously to avoid lumps.
Once the powder is fully dispersed, add enough cold water, to obtain one quart of solution in total.
Leave for a few hours, preferably all night.
To dilute, add a few drops of water, mix, and leave for a moment.
When using pour a small amount of glue into a separate working container. Keep the main stock separately, Well covered, to prevent contamination or spoilage.
