Textile tape for reinforcing spines and book repair
Filmoplast® SH
white, self-adhesive textile tape (cotton or finely woven), characterised by high tear resistance and designed for
book maintenance, joining and strengthening of paper structures.
The most important properties of Filmoplast® SH
- White cotton fabric / textile – clearly visible and resistant to mechanical damage
- Acrylic adhesive, flexible, solvent-free – maintains a permanent bond, does not damage the paper structure
- Certified ageing resistance (PAT / ISO 18916) – archival quality tape
- Tear resistance (high tensile and tear strength) – ideal where the paper/cover is weakened
- TA 3 dispenser operation – easy application and precise tape guidance
Practical application
Filmoplast® SH can be used for, among other things:
- reinforcements for the joints between the book block and the cover (e.g. internal jointing strips),
- repairs to seams and delamination of the spine,
- Mounting of illustrative material or graphics as a hinge inside bindings,
- Sealing of passe-partout back panels or the back of the frame
