Tyvek® 1073D Classic 75g - roll 50m x 100 cm - polyethylene spunbond
This is a smooth, lightweight, yet exceptionally durable material that combines the characteristics of paper and fabric. It resembles a white sheet of paper in appearance, but unlike it, it is much more resistant – it can be crumpled, shaped, and given structure without the risk of damage.
Tyvek® It is made from polyethylene fibres joined at high temperature and pressure. This creates a microfibrous structure that allows water vapour to pass through while blocking liquid water. This allows the material to „breathe” and remain waterproof.
It finds application in many fields — from interior design, through lighting and decorations, to printing and bookbinding. It is used for, among other things, the production of banners, wristbands, race numbers, and children's books.
It's also popular in the fashion industry – used for creating bags, wallets, raincoats, t-shirts, and dresses. It also works well in the production of lamps, shower curtains, interior design elements, labels, mascots, and even kites.
The material is highly resistant to tearing, moisture, mould, and weather conditions such as UV radiation and rain. It does not absorb fats and maintains dimensional stability. It is also very lightweight and easy to store – when compressed, it takes up little space.
Tyvek® takes printing well (UV, screen printing, offset), and can be fully recycled after use.
It does not cause allergic reactions upon skin contact.
It can be machine washed without the need for ironing (which is not recommended – the material starts to shrink at around 104°C and melts at 135°C). It retains its properties even at very low temperatures, down to -73°C.
Universal, robust and versatile – it will be useful for both practical and creative projects.
