Specialist papers

The foundation of every successful conservation project. Whether you need an ultra-lightweight protective barrier weighing 9 g/m² or a rigid board for mounting an exhibit, you'll find it here. We offer a full range of archival papers (buffered and unbuffered), filter papers, parchments and mounting boards. All products are completely acid-free and designed for direct contact with artefacts, ensuring their safety for years to come.

Paper that protects history

In the world of paper conservation, paper is not just a substrate, but a repair material, an insulating layer, and a protective shield all in one. Unlike ordinary office sheets, our specialist papers are characterised by strict pH control and the complete absence of lignin. This ensures that the material you place on an historic document will not itself become a source of its degradation.

Choose paper to suit the style of your collections:

  • Archive documents Choose the variant with an alkaline buffer for manuscripts and prints (neutralises the acidic environment) or without a buffer for sensitive objects such as photographs, fabrics, or specific graphics.
  • Protection and dividers Low-weight tissue paper provides an ideal, delicate barrier that protects valuable pages from abrasion and pigment migration. In turn, smooth, translucent glassine is the standard for safely storing photographs.
  • Wet process support Highly absorbent filter papers and boards are your best assistants for deacidifying, washing and drying objects – they effectively wick away moisture, while remaining safe for delicate structures.
  • Assembly and reinforcement: From black and white conservation boards to dry dubbing films for lamination. We provide solutions that allow for rigid and aesthetic display of your works.
